Recently we created a newsletter which is intended for our tenants and friends of the Valdosta Regional Airport. Our purpose is to provide you with pertinent information and news regarding the airport. At this time, the newsletter is a monthly publication and the schedule will be adjusted as warranted. We hope you find value in the newsletter and we are always open to suggestions on how to improve the product. History

Valdosta Airport HistoryValdosta Regional Airport was constructed in the 1940s as a general aviation facility. The airport is situated on 760 acres of land, just south of the City of Valdosta. In 1980, commercial commuter service to/from Atlanta was inaugurated. The airport consists of 3 runways, two of which may be used by current ASA commercial aircraft.

The airport is located 2.5 miles south of the Valdosta central business district. The commercial terminal, located on the northwest portion of the field, is a modern facility that was opened in 1998. The general aviation terminal is located off Madison Highway on the east side of the airport, where all general aviation activity takes place.

Valdosta-Lowndes County Airport Authority

Valdosta Regional Airport is owned and operated by the Valdosta-Lowndes County Airport Authority. This six-member authority was established in 1987 and is comprised of three appointees from the city and three appointees from the county. The full-time staff of the Airport Authority is comprised of the executive director/airport manager and 5 additional staff members. The following personnel are members of the Airport Authority:

Driving Directions

From I-75 South - Take exit 13 and turn left (east) onto Old Clyattville Road. Go approximately 1.5 miles and take the first right onto Airport Road. Go approximately 1/4 mile and turn right at the Airport sign to enter the terminal driveway.

From I-75 North - Take exit 13 and turn right (east) onto Old Clyattville Road. Then follow the above directions.

You may also take Exit 11 from I-75. From the southbound or northbound exit, turn northeast onto Highway 31 (Madison Highway). Proceed approximately 3 miles, going past the general aviation side of the airport on the left. Turn left at the large Commercial Terminal Airport sign at Airport Road. Go approximately 1/4 mile and turn left again at an identical sign into the terminal driveway.
